A well worked wood netsuke depicting various Osechi Ryori ingredients. Osechi Ryori are the group of dishes served during the New Year celebrations. The centre piece of the ingredients a large vegetable still attached to its stalk. Laid around one side are gomame (sweetened baby sardines); to the other are several nuts, probably Kuri-kinton (sweet chestnuts).
