A wood netsuke with Gamma Sennin relaxing on his giant companion’s back. The toad’s body is nicely rendered with the skin gently undulating and the large, deeply set eyes giving the toad a menacing look. To the underside, the toad has massive feet that cover the entire base of the netsuke. Gama, resting his head on one hand and the other on his knee, looks quite happy with the role reversal that we normally see from this pair.
