An ebony netsuke depicting a court entertainer playing a large drum. The entertainer is dressed in a large flowing robe; one of the creases has been used to form the large knot hole of the himotoshi. The eyes are double inlaid, and the piece is signed Hojitsu on a mother of pearl tablet.
