A wood study of a large pumpkin and nasubi. The pumpkin lightly stained in a reddish brown with the nasubi contrasting in a dark stain, the himotoshi formed by the stalk of the pumpkin.

Ex. Sir Thomas Jackson, 1st Baronet and it has remained within the family since.

The netsuke was most probably first acquired in Japan between 1870 and 1874. Sir Thomas Jackson, 1st Baronet became the chief manager of HSBC in 1876. Prior to this he was based in Yokohama and it is believed it was at this time he discovered netsuke and built his collection.
