A very well-worked and humorous netsuke depicting two warty toads and Gama Sennin. Gama Sennin sits atop the large toad while the smaller of the two is being restrained by the Sennin on top of his shoulder. The details are extraordinarily well-carved, and the wood is attractively stained dark. All eyes are inlaid in dark horn. The underside features superbly carved splayed feet and a large asymmetrical himotoshi.
