A lively wood netsuke carved from prunus wood, most probably depicting Chinnan Sennin. Standing with his robes draped open and long sleeves trailing down, he holds a large bowl, presumably in the initial stages of conjuring his dragon. His face deeply carved and expressive.
To the back. the himotoshi is formed by one small entrance and a much larger exit.
