A beautifully rendered netsuke depicting a snail crawling over a grape vine. The veins of the leaves are carved in delicate low relief; a bunch of grapes hang below. The himotoshi, formed by an opening between the top and bottom set of leaves, completes a very well rendered netsuke; even the signature is rendered with great skill, perched upon an overhanging leaf at the opening of the himotoshi.
