A ryusa netsuke with metal inlay depicting a mother and daughter enjoying a boat ride, viewing cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms, bank and river are carved in openwork around them. A subject popular in woodblock prints is the viewing of cherry blossom at Arashiyama in Kyoto, which is what I believe this ryusa depicts.
