A wide-bodied two-case inrō. A shishi sits to the front, head down resting on its paws; less ferocious, it resembles a curled up pet dog. The body is covered with fine swirls of hair and the two eyes are inlaid, each in a different colour giving the shishi a slightly daft look. To the verso, a roundel of pine. The ground is rendered with dense orange and gold nashiji against black.
The internal risers are in the same finish as the ground, and the compartments in red lacquer. The top compartment has been split into two with a divider.
Signed - Tameyoshi and a red pot seal
